Analyzing Classroom Assessment Data
In this section, Dr. Fox uses Bonnie's data and introduces the group to a more structured process to connect the data to instruction.

Building on the previous section, Dr. Fox first has the group organize the data and write descriptive statements and discussed how this process adds value to the instructional decision-making process.

He discusses the knowledge and skills that a teacher needs to know and use in order to be a true professional, and the difference between being a professional and just having a job as a teacher.

Next, he helps the group understand how only a professional teacher can be expected to account for student performance and to connect it accurately to what is going on in the classroom.

He introduces the concept of effect size.

As the group shares thoughts about other data Bonnie might evaluate before making decisions about instruction, Dr. Fox discusses the value of bringing educators together to have honest discussions about instruction and to learn from each other.

Last, he discusses the concept of comparability and the value of ensuring consistent interpretation at grade levels and in subject areas.
